about 16 years agoJeff and Stacy this is not about the book, but from someone who knows how God works in our life. Two years ago yesterday, I told Randy Hullett and Bob Roeder that I had found a knot in my breast. It was breast cancer and it had gone to my liver. By the Grace of God and a doctor in Greece my life was given back to me. I do not know if you have talked with Melinda Pettingill or not. She is a member of our Church. After I had breast surgery and had half of my liver taken out, then with congestive heart failure, etc., she finally urged me to go to an Alternative Doctor by the name of Ray Hammond in Rowett, Texas. He federal expressed my blood to Greece. The doctor there told him in one week that the doctors here did not get all of the cancer. It was actually eating what liver I had left up. They told me after another pet scan that I had to many tumor and they could not count them all. The doctor in Greece tested the cancer in my blood cells to about 12 different types of chemo and came back with one that totally wiped it out. I am in total remission and praise God everyday. Stacy I know you and Jeff can get through this. It is a hard struggle but with God on your side, you will do well. If there is anything I can do please let me know. about 16 years agoJeff, I received your book in the mail today. I just couldn't wait to buy it at church (and have sort of a line phobia) and Amazon had it available so I clicked! I am so proud of you and can't wait to read. I just read the acknowledgements and will tell you that is the first time I have ever cried reading acknowledgements! I was moved...by the acknowledgements. : ) Can only imagine how great the rest will be. You are so special and such a great example of a wonderful father, husband, pastor, man, friend, leader, love, and all things good. God was so incredibly gracious to bring you and your precious family to McKinney. Of the many blessings in my life, that is one of the tops. I'll never forget your first sermon (again, I cried) and the first day Travis walked in to my Sunday School class at the age of three. He was sooooo cute! (and still is). I have enjoyed watching Emily and Whitney grow in to the beautiful and kind young women that they have become. Stacy has been the picture of the woman that I am inspired to be.
